Hello Willows Swim Team!My name is Kelly Carella and I am looking forward to coming back to the Willows Swim Team as one of your coaches this year! My husband, Mike, and I live in East Windsor with our two kids, Brayden (9) and McKenzie (7).Although the 2019 season was the first swim season for Brayden and McKenzie, I am no stranger to South Brunswick, the team, or coaching! As a child I grew up LIVING at the Willows Swim Club! Starting at the age of 8, I was a member of the team every summer until I graduated from Rutgers Prep (where I also swam) in 2000. After graduation I became an Assistant Coach, and later Head Coach, of the Willows Swim Team while I attended Fairleigh Dickinson University. There I studied Elementary Education and Psychology. While at FDU I also swam all 4 years and was the Assistant Coach during my Graduate year.
From 2005 - 2011 I was a Kindergarten teacher at Brunswick Acres School--a job I LOVED!! Helping young children learn and grow academically, emotionally, and socially was a passion of mine. Once I had a couple years of teaching experience under my belt, I signed on to become an Assistant Coach of the Notre Dame HS Swim Team from 2008 - 2011.I am excited to help your children reach their goals, form a love of swimming, bond with their teammates, create new friendships and, of course, HAVE FUN! I can’t wait to get to know all of you, so please reach out whenever you need to! Together, I am confident we are going to have an awesome Summer Swim Season! Go Willows!
Hello Willows Swim Team! I am Coach Jessica and I am very excited for my first season as your Assistant Coach! A little bit about myself: I am married to my husband Andrew and we have three boys: Mason (8), Carter (6), and Austin (1). I am also a second grade teacher in South Brunswick!
I am so excited to share my love of swimming with you! I swam competitively all four years of high school, specializing in 100m breaststroke, relays, and 500m freestyle. I also have had the opportunity to coach a few other sports like field hockey and soccer. I am looking forward to a wonderful swim season with all of you!
Greetings, Willows Swim Team! You can call me Coach Ben. I am excited to start coaching this summer. I just finished my first year at Franklin and Marshall College, where I was a member of the varsity swim team.
I have been swimming competitively for over 10 years. I spent my summers swimming and volunteer coaching at University Swim Club. I attended Saint Joseph High School in Metuchen from 2018 to 2022. There, I set the New Jersey High School State record in the 200 medley relay and became a three-time All-American. I can't wait to use my knowledge of the sport to help the Willows Wave Swim Team.
